This research area focuses on the security challenges and perspective of modern vehicles. Any recent car is equipped with tens of electronic control units, small computers that communicate among themselves through industrial communication buses and control manu safety-relevant features of modern vehicles. The increase of connectivity of cars opened the avenue for cyber attackers trying (... and succeeding…) to compromise these systems from the Internet. Moreover, vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communications will play a prominent role in the near future, hence novel solutions for improving trust in these communications are required. Our research activities focus on:
Analysis of in-vehicle and vehicle-to-everything network communications for detecting attacks
Application of cryptography for improving the security of in-vehicle and vehicle-to-everything communications
